The Pelham has attachments for two reins, one near the mouthpiece and one at the end of the shank.

The Polo Pelham 55 has 55mm shanks and utilizes a heavier cheek pieces than the standard Pelham.

The Johan Du Plooy has a ported curved mouthpiece with a central roller filling the port. This roller applies tongue, bar and poll pressure which makes it an effective polo bit.
