Bomber Hybrid Bomber Blue Elliptical Lock Up

Key Features

The Bomber Hybrid is a combination of a mechanical hackamore and American Gag, giving it the combined effects of the hackamore and the bit.  Ideal for strong sensitive mouthed horses as it distributes pressure uniformly on the nose, mouth and the poll. The reins can be attached at various positions to allow for varying degrees of leverage. The amount of movement in the mouthpiece can be altered by moving the stopper above the mouthpiece. The nose piece is padded for the horse’s comfort and a nylon curb strap is included.

The Bomber Blue material is a nylon composite and has been on the global market for over a decade. It has proven to be a well-received alternative to steel and other synthetics. It is porous encouraging salivation and acceptance.

We have carefully blended the stainless-steel joints with the Bomber Blue material to create a smooth  profile.

Some horse’s do not like the feel of metal in the mouth.  The Bomber Blue material was designed specifically for these horses

The Bomber Blue Elliptical Lock Up removes the squeezing of the bars that a conventional three piece creates.  The Bomber Blue Elliptical Lock Up is therefore a softer option, than a conventional Elliptical, although stronger than a control plate due to the smaller pressure point created on the tongue.

Recommended by Bomber for horses that are fussy in the contact and require both stability and a separation of the aids.  This would be recommended for horses lifting, poking or flicking their heads.

Mouthpiece

The Elliptical Lock Up creates a pressure point on the tongue due to the centre component concentrating pressure on a small surface area. Pressure descends onto the bars and due to the mouthpiece being a semi-broken mouthpiece, it will hinder creating a squeeze on the bars – the extra piece of metal that has been added prevents the mouthpiece from folding backwards therefore creating little, to no squeeze on the bars.

There are many factors beyond our control that can contribute to the horse chewing the bit, thus we are not able to cover the non-metal mouthpieces with our lifetime guarantee.

Cheekpiece

This is a sophisticated combination bit, suitable for experienced riders for use on a strong but sensitive horse, the adjustable settings offered for rein attachments will vary pressure on the nose, tongue and curb. Care must be taken that, as with any mechanical hackamore, the noseband sits above the nasal bone.

Supplied with a nylon back strap.
