Portuguese 3 Ring Mullen
The Mullen is a strong bit which creates direct pressure on the tongue which will in turn create direct pressure on the bars. Used for a strong older horse and will also bring the head down.
A Ring cheekpiece introduces poll pressure as well creating leverage on the mouthpiece. The 3 Ring is our most popular version.
All our bits are made from blue sweet iron, because it:
- oxidises easily
- encourages salivation
- helps bit acceptance
- is warm and sweet
Please note the blue will fade with use.
